Sometimes i am reading so many books I forget until thankfully a author sends a reminder of a release of something I said I wanted to read and smack my head oh yeah. So when I relooked at this blurb I thought now not too sure forgot time travel in it and do not read too many of those any more but hey grew up in the seventies so okay. I am introduced to Desi and she is at the end of her rope per say thanks to a accident but she happens into a what is a psychic's place and she is told some pretty wild stuff. She follows it to Bernie's museum home, he was a R&B superstar after all, and wow she is there in his time. Thing is though a month later in a car accident their lives end. So this author gets you back to that time also but you are on pins and needles even during their wonderful building relationship. You get so far hooked into them that you are desperate for something, anything to change. This author will deliver one emotional story that will capture you taking you back and forth. Even when you get what you want she still will be dancing on your heart strings because of poor Bernie. She does know how to bring it all around to the point that with love being the bridge you get full circle and ya it sure was "deeper than perfect". Gotta love when a title aptly fits the book. So now I am more than glad I read this one.Product details

awesome story in its own way with the time warp thing going on so she could meet her one true love and than to overcome the obstacles that goes with the back to the future where adjustments need to be made the story kept me from beginning to ending
I loved this! I am a musician, although not as creative as Bernie (or Bob Marley!), I really did not know what to expect when Desiree was coming back (or not) to the present; I was satisfied with the ending (which might be a spoiler of sorts), what resonated so much with me was speaking about losing the passion of one's life (and I am not talking about love here). Reminded me about how strongly I felt, a few decades ago. And how Love can help you heal, after something major is taken away.
This was such a great read!! Afton Locke did a great job with this story. I fell in love with Bernie and Desi. I loved how she wrote them. They were truly soul mates and I could feel it in the pages. This was a love story with a twist. That twist was time travel. I'm sure we all have thought of traveling time to find a soul mate or just to live a few weeks during that time period. In Deeper Than Perfect, we got to visit my favorite era, one that I wasn't even born in, the 70s. In the 70s, we got to see Bernie and Desi fall in love and it was magical. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a warm love story. Do not pass this up!
I loved the concept of this book as well as the story line. Both Desi & Bernie are conflicted at different parts of the story. They overcome life's obstacles and take the second chances they are given but only after struggling to accept life's punches. Desi was a model until she is scarred for life from a car accident. Bernie Benson is a famous music artist of the seventies trying to make a difference for all races. There is emotional turmoil as well as hot and sexy scenes.

Time travel. Star-crossed lovers. Sweet romance mixed with hot and steamy sex. This book has all of that and more. Can Desi overcome her external scars as well as her internal ones? Can Bernie learn to live without fame and fortune?
The author has created some truly awesome characters in this story. People I would love to hang out with and be friends with. They are well developed and interesting and the action never slows down. While its purely a romance novel, it was still a page turner!
As an independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock, I give this one four dripping fangs for awesome sex and sweet sweet romance well blended!
